A serial entrepreneur and accomplished real estate developer with many years of experience, Richard deGorter currently serves as Manager of Biofuels Development Partners LLC and Crescent Development Partners LLC, the successor to a company, Development Partners, Inc., which he founded in 1992. As the leader of these diversified manufacturing and real estate development companies, he focuses his efforts primarily on development in the mid-Atlantic region. Over the years, Richard deGorter has established close working relationships with some of the top homebuilders, developers, and financiers in America.
Biofuels Development Partners LLC recently formed Barnesville Wood Pellets LLC to develop and operate a $70 million wood pellet production facility in Barnesville, Georgia. This manufacturing facility will employ 56 to produce 390,000 metric tonnes of wood pellets annually, predominantly for export to Europe from the Port of Brunswick, GA.
Mr. deGorter has responsibility for all due diligence and zoning, permitting, and regulatory approvals in addition to developing cost budgets, preparing investment offerings, and arranging joint ventures with capital providers.
Aside from his work with Biofuels Development Partners, he is the co-founder and Executive Director of the Linked Economic Development and Affordable Housing Foundation, Inc. (LEDAHF), whose mission is to relieve the burdens of government by promoting economic development, the availability of affordable housing, and environmental sustainability.
